The HP LaserJet Pro P1566 is a compact monochrome laser printer built for personal use and small offices that want fast black-and-white printing from a desk-friendly machine. It prints up to 23 pages per minute on letter paper (22 on A4), and HP's Instant-on Technology gets the first page out quickly from sleep. Output is 600 x 600 dpi enhanced to 1200 dpi effective quality by HP FastRes 1200 for clean text.

A 250-sheet main tray and 10-sheet priority feed slot handle everyday paper and envelopes, a 266 MHz processor with 8 MB of memory covers typical documents, and the printer connects over Hi-Speed USB 2.0. Two-sided printing is manual. At 15.2 inches wide and about 14 pounds it fits almost anywhere, and HP rates it for up to 8,000 pages a month. The P1566 uses the HP 78A black toner cartridge.
